update

Michael is doing great, in fact he went back to work today!! I was very nervous, but the dizziness stopped completely and he hasn't needed the pain medicine since Tuesday evening!! I think he just wanted to get out of the house and get off the couch, so I'm sure today will be a long day for him but he is doing well.

It's hard to tell how his ear looks because it's still so swollen and bloody, but I'm sure after this weekend we will be able to tell. Plus, he gets the packing out sometime next week so that will be the real test.... poor guy, he held up like a champ!!

Bode and I are headed to the beach this weekend while Michael and Koa go to the cabin for another work weekend (although Michael can't really work, he will do what he can). The beach will be crowded but I'm excited to see everyone, the more the merrier i always say!!

Little monster!

So Michael and I had a first ...... we had a 'real' babysitter come and watch Bode. It was sooo scary in a way as I'm sure some of you Moms may know! My friend Amanda, who has been living in Germany for 2 years came home to move to San Diego, and we met her at Iron Hill for dinner/drinks. We have talked for months about looking for sitters because we always rely on family/friends and although it's extremely appreciated and makes us comfortable, they may not always be available. We may want to just catch a movie one night and get a sitter so we found one! Andrea gave me the idea because her friend did this, but I looked on Craigslist (i know some people think about that stalker/killer but it's a good idea to find 'normal' people too). I found a girl who has a 2 year old daughter and is a nanny during the day..... i called 4 references and they all had great things to say about her. We interviewed her and loved her, as did Bode (and Koa). We went to dinner last night and I actually think I was better than I thought I would be- I called her a few times until he fell asleep and everything went well so we are super excited, especially now that we can have her watch Bode if we want to go golfing.... it's been 2 years almost since I have actually played!! She lives close and is almost always available.... yeah for us!! Thanks for the great idea Ani!!!
