More snow and swimming

Saturday night we went to Joni's house for dinner and night time sledding with the kids- Bode isn't usually fond of the snow, but he LOVED it!!!

the sledding hill

Getting ready to sled with his cousins!
Sunday during the day, Michael and Bode played outside and surprisingly, Bode loved it

He even made snow angels on his own!

Starting on Saturday, Bode has been sleeping in his new room all by himself and loving it so far! We had him nice and tired from sledding all weekend and then we had a super bowl party sunday night, so he was wiped out and loves to crash in his big boy bed. He talks about his surfing room and says 'i like my surf room mommy'. It makes me so sad to think about him sleeping upstairs on a whole different floor. It's like he is officially a toddler now and is getting older- very sad, but I'm so proud of what he has become already at 2 years old!

Now that he's upstairs by himself, it makes having another baby feel more real- up until now, his stuff has been in the nursery room and now it's pretty empty and it feels more real that there is a #2 coming..... it just hasn't hit me that it's a girl yet- I think because I was used to not knowing with Bode, but I'm sure it will hit me when I start putting her clothes away and her 10 pairs of shoes!!!

We started swimming lessons for Bode again- if you rewind a few months back, we had him in swimming lessons and he got an ear infection.... but what we didn't know is that his ear drum had ruptured and because we didn't know, we kept him in swimming and it got worse! We were hoping he wasn't prone to ear infections of swimmer's ear- so far we have been in lessons for 2 weeks and things seem good so far.

Here he is blowing bubbles with Daddy

swimming with Dave, the instructor

noodle floating!

chillin on the platform with Jeremy

One of Bode's favorite things to do- jump in!!

Bode has improved so much in just the 2 weeks of swimming- he is getting more used to going to Dave (who he used to scream about and never go to) and actually kicks his legs and can blow bubbles. When he jumps off the platform to swim to the wall, he used to just sink and now he just needs a few boosts to the surface, but he kicks and kinda swims!

I could talk about how proud we are of Bode forever, but he is just too smart and funny! He is getting better at colors, can say the entire alphabet without skipping a beat, count to 14, and knows almost a dozen songs. He learns a song at daycare, and can recite it for us usually after a day or two of singing it- it just amazes us! He seems to be more and more thoughtful lately too which is super cute- when we get home from daycare, he asks where some of the other kids are- 'are they at home Mommy, do they eat dinner Mommy'..... and the other day Michael was in the snow laying down and he walked over and said 'are you okay Daddy'- oh and now when I am talking, instead of interrupting me he will say 'you done talking Mommy, ok my turn'.... ughhh I just can't get enough of him!!! We are so proud of him and how smart he is and he's only almost 2- his birthday is coming up and he will tell you 'I have a birthday in February and I'm 2'... ok ok that's all the bragging for now- we are loving every minute of him and can't believe how big he is getting!

SNOW

We got about 18 inches of snow this weekend- YAYYYY! What a weekend for it- we have absolutely nothing to do all weekend, except have a superbowl party on Sunday! Hopefully everyone can make it over LOL

Bode was so excited because he made this at school..... it's a ruler that is made into a snowman with lines on it to measure how much snow we get! too bad we got too much snow and we couldn't really use it haha
Playing in Daddy's shoes

Bode looked outside at the snow this morning and said Mommy I want to go to the beach and he ran into his room and got his swim trunks out! I couldn't complain because I wanted to go to the beach too.... but he threw a fit when we wouldn't let him wear his swim trunks in the snow!

Gearing up for the snow

Koa had much more fun than Bode- he jumps in and out of the snow, burrows in it, frolicks all around and acts like a goofball! Bode just kinda stands there and hates to fall in it

Our crazy dog

He isn't fond of the snow, but doesn't ever want to go inside!

Mom and Dad are in Maui right now- ughhh just saying it makes me mad! They are enjoying their stay and having a great time so far. I think Bode is going to be sleeping in his room tonight or tomorrow- it is all setup for him and we just need to get shades or curtains. I can't wait, I hope he likes it!!

Booooooooring

We are still alive- sorry we haven't posted anything in awhile- we have been really busy lately. Most of our evenings during the week are spent working upstairs for Michael and organizing the new playroom and Bode's room, as well as the nursery for BGM. This past weekend we were very busy but had a lot of fun. Friday night we went to dinner with friends and unfortunately I got a case of food poisoning from about 11pm-3am.... it was horrible! Mostly I felt bad for the baby while I was throwing up, but she and I survived- my doctor said that the baby is usually not harmed by that kind of food poisoning and she kicked me enough Saturday to get me back!! Saturday I got a pedicure with some girlfriends and it was wonderful- it's been so long since I've had one and I can't wait to go back!! Michael and I then left Lancaster and headed to Mom & Dad's house. We redeemed our Anniversary present (dinner & movie) while Mom & Dad watched Bode, Charlie & Aaron. We went out with Sara & Alex and saw Avatar in 3D (AMAZING) and went to a nice dinner. I was afraid to eat anything, but it was still good. We went back to watch The Hangover with my parents and it was HYSTERICAL!!!!!!

Sunday was Alex's birthday dinner so the guys played their annual football game and then went to Hooters for lunch, then we ate a Cajun-inspired dinner, thanks to my amazing chef of a mother!! We had such a wonderful weekend spent with family and I was in such a hurry to get to the movie Saturday I forgot my camera :( I promise I will post pictures of Bode soon- he is growing like a weed and doing so well. They are very impressed with him at school with how quickly he learns things- he is more like a sponge now than ever! He loves to sing songs and tells everyone that his birthday is in February and he will be 2! I can't believe he will be 2 this month.

I am feeling great, besides the whole food poisoning incident. My belly is expanding every day and little things are becoming more and more uncomfortable to do.... I think it's worse the second time around because I know things are only going to get worse hahaha- with Bode, I just rolled with the punches and didn't know what to expect but now I know how much more I will expand and how much more uncomfortable I can still be! We still haven't told anyone her name yet and although just about everyone has asked Bode what his sissy's name is, he just says baby (we don't say her name at home.... Michael and I do to each other and I talk to her, but not in front of Bode!) It's crazy to think that I will be due in just over 3 months..... It's even weirder when I say I'm due in 14 weeks.... WOW!

Low key weekend

Friday night Bode had a sleepover at Aunt Jamie's house because Michael and I were going to a surprised 30th bday party for Kristi. The Obers had fun with Bode and we are so glad they were able to watch him, thank you again!
We totally surprised Kristi, which was impressive, given the fact that there were well over 30 ppl at the party!

This looks like someone is slapping her but they were hugging her hahaha- she was so shocked
she came in, walked out and cried, then came back!

Matt & Ashley Zander- Ashley is due exactly one month before me and they dont know what they are having!! (I predict a girl for some reason)

the bday girl!!

this picture cracks me up because it looks like there is an animal trying to crawl out of my stomach haha

the kr/christy's

bday cake!!

totally didn't mean to match!
Saturday, Michael and Scott finished the hardwood flooring upstairs in the hallway, it looks great and the upstairs is really coming together!!
Saturday afternoon, Michael went hunting and Bode and I of course played in the playroom most of the day- we ran some errands and then had a nice relaxing night at home

We got Vietnamese food for dinner and Bode tried it for the first time- and LOVED it, I'm so proud!! The rule in our house is you have to try at least one bite of something- if you don't like it, it's ok- but that is what my parents did and i ended up trying and liking so many different foods!

Sunday was pretty much a lazy day at home- it was rainy and yucky and besides Michael doing some painting and me grocery shopping and cleaning a bit, we played with Bode and just hung out- it was fantastic!!

Daddy explaining to Bode what snowboarding is- he kept calling it skateboarding

We put Bode's big boy bed together! Aunt Sara got him this new comforter set and we LOVE it!! It inspired the paint colors in the room and it's the perfect match! I wanted to incorporate a lot of color, but match the comforter and I think we did a great job! The room isn't quite done, but we're getting there

I can't believe I'm 6 months pregnant already- where has time gone?? I'm feeling great and getting huge! Little things like tying my shoes are getting hard, but I'm still feeling great and BGM (baby girl Madara) moves A LOT!! It worries me a bit, because she seems to move more than Bode and he was soooo active and busy- oh my!!

The Playroom

The carpet was installed today!!!! yayyy Bode has a new playroom and will soon have his bedroom done!

His kitchen, tool bench, and new toybox! The whole wall on the left side used to be a closet, believe it or not. Knocking that out opened up so much space for the room!

Bode's splatter wall, he is so proud that he got to help do it

Michael and Scott started the hallway tonight, now that the carpet is in. They were able to put the flooring in the hallway closet and we hope to continue the hallway on Saturday! Scott has been so wonderful and helpful, we are so lucky!!
Bode had a sleepover tonight at Nanny's and is sleeping over at Aunt Jamie's tomorrow night because Michael and I have plans, but I cannot wait to see his face when he gets here Saturday morning to see his playroom!!!

Bode's new truck

We are having spring fever here in Lancaster- the weather has been gorgeous the past 2 days!!!
This morning Bode has his first session at The Little Gym in Lititz..... it's a great place for kids to have some fun and learn lots of new activities. We are going to sign him up to join and this morning was his first time, he loved it. They have a few minutes of circle time where they do names, sing songs, skip in a circle, and do other structured activities.... then it's free time to do all of the fun gymnastics-type stuff. Bode LOVED it! He especially loved the uneven parallel bars.... he was able to hang onto the bottom one and swing himself- the ladies there were mucho impressed at his strength, especially upper body strength. He also did a great job tumbling and 'land surfing' which was fun!

The weather was so beautiful, we continued to play all day- I went to the gym while Bode played in the kid zone and then when we got home, we played outside. He wanted to play with his truck and scooter!!

We really can't wait for Spring!!!

Cute Renovation pics

Bode absolutely loves the fact that there is a renovation project going on upstairs- he is in his glory with hammers, banging around, dirt and dust, etc. As soon as he wakes up and when he gets back from daycare, he grabs his hammer and asks to go upstairs to work on his playroom. I almost think he will be upset when it's done because we wont be working on it anymore!

Bode, carefully posing like Daddy!
One of his favorite toys- the tape measure
