Party time- but a sick boy :(

We had a great New Year's Eve celebration spent with friends! Joni watched Bode while Michael and I rang in the new year with some friends. We first went to Doug and Melissa's house and met a lot of new couples there. One couple in particular was a lot of fun and they have a 14 month old daughter so we had a lot to talk about! We hit it off well and plan on getting together with them soon!

After a few shots of Jagermeister, Melissa busted out the 'stack cup' game and holy cow was I addicted!!! We are investing in that game for our bar FOR SURE!

Here is Doug with Melissa's really nice glass bowl on his head!

We were there until about 11 and then headed off to Elizabethtown to Matt & Andrea's house.

We had a lot of fun there were able to ring in the new year with our close friends!

For some reason I didn't get a picture of Devon & Brandon but they were there too! We stayed there until about 2am and headed home. Bode had been kinda sick that night for Joni and he was up screaming at 7am! Needless to say I was exhausted all of New Year's day... Michael tried to get up with him but because I drove the night before, Michael did most of the drinking hahaha. Bode was sick as a dog the whole day at Jere & Cathy's house. He cried all morning pretty much and couldn't breathe, had a horrible cough, etc.

For Bode to just sit there all day and not want to get down and move, scared the crap out of me- there is nothing worse than seeing your baby really sick. Michael took him to the doctor Friday morning while I was at work in case he had an ear infection, but nope- just a bad cold :( I'm glad it's not an infection, but sad there isn't anything we can do for him.

He literally snuggled all day

Friday morning Scott came over and when Michael got back from the doctor's with Bode, they started to tile the basement!!!!!! This was as of about noonish.... as of last night, they were more than 3/4 of the way done! They will certainly finish today and we can start to grout and put baseboards back on!

Bode is gettin better, although that cough sounds terrible! He at least played all afternoon yesterday and didn't lay around and cry. He looks better and no longer has a temperature!!!

I have been working with Koa outside while I run because he gets very distracted easily.... he is afraid of EVERYTHING that moves outside and likes to pull me towards squirrels. I don't always take him because I never seem to have a good run when he's with me, but lately he is getting better. Yesterday I took him for a 4 miler through Lititz and the park- he did SUPERB! There were ducks, geese, squirrels, rabbits, other dogs, people, etc. in the park and if he got a little excited, I would nudge him with my leg (like Caesar) and he would fall back into line.... I was so impressed with him! He is also getting in better shape- he used to trail behind me after a mile and he kept up the whole time. The only problem is now if we try to just walk him, he wants to run and tries to pull ahead a lot...... I keep telling Michael I want to call Caesar (the dog whisperer- our favorite show) to come work with him, but I think for now we will just do our best! We trained Koa really well when we first got him but with Bode and the move, etc. we have gotten very lazy with him and you can tell! In our old townhouse, we could walk him without a leash and he would stay at our side for the most part- I would love to get back to that soon.

Um.... totally random thought here, but I can't believe my little man is going to be 1 soon- ahhhhhhhhh
