Labor Day Weekend!!

We are gearing up for what we hope will be a fun-filled Labor Day weekend at the beach house. I can't wait to see what Bode does in the sand!! I will take lots of pictures, don't worry.

Michael and I both pretty much work a half day tomorrow and then we will load up the car and be beach bound.... I love the beach- "a bad day at the beach is better than a good day at home"- my Mom and I always say that but I'm not sure if we can take credit for that quote.....

Bode is getting more teeth, which means 1- fun diapers to change and 2- he is veryyy tired

I think he is growing too because his clothes seem to all be getting too tight!

I tried so hard to keep him awake after his bath.... I looked away for 2 minutes and he was out cold... he was even snoring! HAA

So things are going well with the new house.... we are taking our time to make sure we paint everything and take care of what needs to be done before we do the flooring and move everything in. I helped paint earlier in the week but the past few nights came back to Joni's to spend some time with Bode- With how busy our weekend was, I feel like I haven't spent a lot of time with him :( Michael and Scott have been at the house every night working their tails off to get it done. We are thinking now the flooring and carpet probably won't be in until end of next week because the trim all needs a second coat and we want to get it all painted before we install the hardwood floors..... we don't have much going on next weekend, so hopefully we can work next week and get most of it done by the weekend to start moving stuff in. We are sooo excited because Joni & Scott told us they are getting us a house-warming gift.... that is SUPER generous!!! They are getting us a brandy-spankin' new flat stove-top!!! The one now on our island is probably as old as the house and horribly dirty. We don't even know if it works.... we are so excited- thank you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also wanted to let everyone know my secret obsession.... ok so it's not a secret to everyone, but I'm obsessed with houses- everything about houses and the housing market. I used to want to be an architect or realtor and I love decorating and watching shows about houses and decorating- I love everything with houses. My good friend Amy (Sunny Duble hehe) let me in on a little secret website a few years back that I kinda forgot about until watching my FAVORITE channel- HGTV. Sunny shares my obsession with remodeling, etc. and this website is fantastic.....

Thanks Sunny- I would like to tell you that not only am I obsessed, but everyone I share this site with becomes obsessed too..... and then we talk about the site and become more obsessed- do you get where I'm going?!!

Anyway, this site is great- you can basically visit different types of rooms (nursery, bedroom, patio, kitchen, etc.) and see thousands of ideas- and rate them or comment on the spaces. Some people remodeled a room or just have neat paint and design ideas. I have used this site as inspiration for a few rooms in our new house- one being our master bedroom.... which is top secret until it's all done!!!!!!!!!!!!
