Dutch Wonderful Weekend!

Friday night Michael and I were at home with Bode relaxing all night! We took Bode and Koa for a long walk and had a nice dinner and caught up on our shows. Saturday, I went for a long run and worked in Lititz.... we were so busy- the weather was finally nice out- and we had a great day.... we now have our fall display out and people are going nuts over our stuff!

Bode holding Koa's leash, ready to go for a walk

During the day, Michael did a ton of work around the house and took care of Bode.... when I got home, I went on a date with my boys :) This coming weekend, Bode will be at my parents' house all weekend because Erin and I are throwing Melissa a baby shower on Sunday, but Saturday night Doug is having a 'diaper party' and us ladies are going out for a girls' night.... then probably crashing the diaper party :):) so we won't see much of Bode this weekend. We took him to Chilis and he had a great time!

Chicken fingers and Broccoli.... it doesn't get any better than this!

After dinner we stopped by Devon & Brandon's house to visit with them and Matt & Ani and watch part of the Florida State game then headed home for a good night sleep

Sunday we were off to Dutch Wonderland with the Wolf Pack and the Cohen Families- Randi's husband is head of safety and security for the amusement park, so he has tickets leftover that they gave us (thank you guys again so much). Sara, Alex and the boys came along as well as Sam, Kim & Ethan.... it was a dutch wonderful day for sure!

Don't we pull off the Amish look so perfectly!!! I really look Amish because my hair is dark and the bonnet is dark... but with the glasses, not so much.... I love this picture and might use it as my new facebook profile hahahaha.... my high school friends will get a kick out of that!

So the day started off kinda interesting at home because Bode woke up early and I found him asleep on his floor at 9am, in the middle of playing blocks. I put him in the crib for an hour, but we had to be at the park at 11am.... so he was miserable the whole way there!

Then we walked in and saw Duke, the Dragon... and he SCREAMED!!!!! Hated it!

Charlie loves Duke though and ran up to give him a hug

so Bode has NEVER been on a ride before.... the first ride we put him on this twister thing... that is basically a scrambler for kids... NOT A GOOD IDEA! It whips around the corners and Bode was more shocked than anything I think!
He went on the ride with Tyler (Tyler is a pro at these rides... his Daddy works here). Poor Tyler... Bode wasn't hanging on, so everytime they went around a curve, Bode would slam into Tyler and he didn't know what to do with Bode. He did so well at protecting him

Bode loved the monster trucks... we rode these a few times!

And the trains he loved too... the kids have to self-propel themselves by turning the hand cranks so luckily they had these things where you could push them from behind

good thing cause Bode wouldn't have gotten very far haha

More monster trucks

Riding on the boats!

Bulldozers... halfway through this ride that was SUPER SLOW around in circles... Bode tried to stand up and every time he went around me or Michael he would yell ALL DONE hahaha
Riding the logs

Bode also liked the classic cars... which were my favorite too- they remind me of the ones at Disneyland which were one of my favorite rides as a kid. I would push the pedal and Bode steered the whole time (luckily the cars are on a track)!!

All in all it was a good day... Bode had several meltdowns but I couldn't blame him... he was tired before we even got there and for him to never have gone on rides, he did well. A few times we put him on rides and he screamed and didn't want to be strapped down (imagine that), we are just glad we got free tickets because he definitely didn't ride a lot haha. I forget sometimes that he is still so young because he looks and acts older sometimes. It was fun spending time with Randi, Brent & Tyler and the Cohen families and we look forward to taking Bode again maybe Halloween or Christmas to see Santa and the light show.... it's a really cute park and we look forward to taking him there many more times!! Thanks again Wolf pack!!!!
