Great weekend!

We had a very busy weekend but we got a lot done and it was fun. Thursday night we had dinner at Nanny & Pap's house (thanks again it was yummy!) and then went to see Aunt Lynn & Uncle Bill, who were in town visiting with Great Nana! Bode wanted to make sure he brought his baseball bat along in case someone wanted to play ha!

Friday night Michael and I decided to make 'Beer Can Chicken' on the grill. We put the chicken on late and waited to eat until after Bode went to bed- we relaxed on the deck with a bottle of wine and had a nice dinner!

Bode ate dinner outside while we were grilling and played a lot of basketball

Saturday morning I went for a run and then had to work all day in Lititz. Michael took Bode to a benefit for the Weber Family- Two friends that Michael went to high school with had a terrible loss this past week. While their parents were riding their motorcycle a few weeks ago, they were T-Boned by a car running a stop sign and were both rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Their Dad came home about a week ago, but unfortunately their Mom did not make it :( It's a terrible loss for such a wonderful family and the community rallied together and had a benefit for them with food and drinks being donated, raffle prizes, an auction, etc. I was upset that I could not be there but Michael brought Bode to show our support!

After work, I picked Michael and Bode up, we drove 2 hours to the cabin and loaded rocks into Michael's truck for an hour. Bode was busy picking up sticks on the trail and we found out that he can count to 5!!!!!!! I was floored! We hauled rocks like it was nobody's business and filled the truck to the top pretty quickly. We then drove home another 2 hours and were glad Bode slept the whole way! It was a very long night and we all got to sleep in a little bit Sunday morning. I made my boys cinnamon waffles and we were off to my parents' house- my Dad has been out of town for awhile and hasn't seen the grandkids in about 3 weeks.... the next chance he will get is Labor Day weekend, as my parents leave tuesday for Seattle for about 10 days. We had a lot to do at the house, but of course wanted my Dad to see Bode, so we drove to my parents house in the morning. Michael scouted around Marsh Creek to find his hunting spot and found a great spot.... he even saw a deer there!

Bode and Charlie played outside in the morning- they played golf, baseball, and they played on the big wheel! We are in serious trouble with him.... we found out at Jamie's house that he can ride a scooter and he loves bikes- once he can reach the pedals, he will be GONE!

Charlie looks like he's about to push Bode off the bike, but he actually had just kicked the wheel and stubbed his toe!

We headed to the pool for about 2 hours and in a flash I was scared to death as Bode went under water :( He likes to climb on the step to get out and he runs/walks over to the side to jump in to me.... I helped him to the top step and quickly walked over to the side of the pool to catch him (he usually runs to the side, so I got over there pretty quickly) only to look back and see him under water!!!!!!!!!!!!! He had fallen in and was under water near the bottom step- as I'm typing this my whole body feels weak and I get queasy. I scooped him up and he was laughing but I was a mess... my legs were weak and I could barely stand- I'm sure it was seconds, but it seemed like he had been under for a minute or more. I can't get the visual out of my head of him under water completely- absolutely horrible!
It scared me too that he was laughing.... he has no fear and I can't decide if I would rather have him afraid of water or have no fear- he definitely keeps me on my toes!

Casper and Brownie at it again!

Charlie is like the frosting in between the Oreo cookie hahahaha- I always pick on my sister about that and she hates it, but when you see their skin color difference, it's hysterical!

We left around 2pm today and Bode slept the whole way home- I put him back down when we got home and I had to wake him at 6pm!!!! He was wiped out from the weekend for sure.

We are having an end of summer BBQ on Saturday- an all day Pig Roast- I'm so excited!! I had to get some major groceries and Michael made HUGE headway on the rock wall- it's almost to the deck in the backyard.... I will be posting pictures soon!!

It was nice to hang out at home tonight and be able to sit around and play with Bode- we did a lot of running around this weekend and have had something every night during the past 2 weeks!
We shouldn't have a busy week- Michael is done with softball (they came in Second... woowooooooo) and I don't have any jewelry parties this week. I can't wait to come home in the evenings and not have to go anywhere!

Michael and Bode watching highlights from the Phillies game- we missed it while we were driving home today but THEY WON!
