The way I like to do good news/bad news is bad news first and then good news- hopefully the good news is good enough to outweigh the bad.... in this case, not so much but here goes:
so i had some very mild bleeding start sunday night and monday morning- i didn't think much of it but called the doctor and they ordered a STAT ultrasound.... they found that although they thought I was 9 weeks along, little Nalu (the fetus) is only measuring at 6 weeks. Since the baby's heart won't begin beating until about 7 weeks, there was no heartbeat on the ultrasound.... either the doctors were WAY off on my due date and ovulation, or the baby simply stopped growing after 6 weeks :( We aren't sure what is going on and unfortunately we have to wait another week until they can check for a heartbeat again. My doctor agreed to at least run some blood work today and take it again Wednesday- if my levels increase the ultrasound next Monday might not be too bad.... if the levels don't do anything, I had a miscarriage :( I know this happens to a lot of women and it's never easy to deal with, but I am trying to be positive and at least be thankful that I am still young, I was still VERY early, and we have the most beautiful, healthy boy to be so lucky and happy about!!
So onto the Great news.......... Michael got a new job!!! We are so fortunate that in this economy, he has been able to retain his current job and has great job security- only problem is that he isn't happy where he is- there is no room for advancement of any kind and he is severely underpaid for what he does. He has been applying for about 4 months, has had several interviews, and got a job offer on Thursday evening. He is waiting to hear about their benefits package before officially accepting, but it's a huge pay increase for us and Michael will have a better title and a loooot of room for advancement of different kinds!!! His commute will increase about 15 minutes, but it's all highway and the hours are the same that he is working now. We are sooo excited and I am sooo incredibly proud of his determination to succeed!!!
More great news......... Aaron is home and doing well! The tests came back negative and although they tried to do the milk scan last week, he had such bad reflux they couldn't finish the test! They think he could have had a bad virus on top of horrible, horrible reflux- poor baby!
Easter weekend- oh my gosh how much fun we had. We went to my parents' house Thursday night and Michael golfed with my parents on Friday while Bode and I worked (work is soooo busy now, we are very happy). Friday night my parents took us out to celebrate Michael's new job and then on Saturday the Cohen family came out to celebrate Easter!!
Gampa and Bode reading- Bode was never into books as a baby but now loves to sit and listen

Saturday afternoon we let the kiddos decorate easter eggs-although it was the messiest I've ever witnessed, Bode had so much fun
Ready with his apron on

We brought the kids' table up from the playroom and layed a tarp down in the kitchen- it turned out to be a MUCH needed tarp!

Dipping Eggs
Dipping his hands instead of Easter eggs- whatever makes him happy HA

He was obviously upset that I put an end to the fun, but here are his monster hands!! He had ink everywhere, he looked like such a disheveled little boy

He was very into Aaron and can now say "baby"..... it's so cute and we can't wait for him to be a big brother, whenever that may be!

This picture makes my absolutely crack up!!!!!!!!!!!!! Charlie drew everyone pictures this weekend and he layed this one down at Cody's feet hahahaha- the funny part is Cody just kinda stood there and looked at it and it was like he wasn't sure if he should move

Charlie and Bode had so much fun playing with each other- the play pretty much consisted of Bode running after Charlie or the other way around, but regardless they kept each other busy and it's so cute to see!

The Easter bunny came and hid eggs and toys for the boys
Bode was so cute, he had no idea what they were, but he threw them in his bag

The Easter bunny knew that Bode was young, so he had to hide them in obvious places, like the middle of the floor

After a long morning of hunting eggs, Bode sat in Gampa's lap while he read the paper and dozed off- he is so into Gampa lately

Sunday morning we left after the kids did their eggs and we got packed up. We brought Bode home for a nap and unpacked from the weekend, got ready, and went to Aunt Cathy's for more family Easter time!!!
The cutest picture!! Makayla and her Bode

Bode tried a pickle for the first time and LOVED it! He shoved it in his mouth and sucked the juice out- yummm
