We Survived.... well one of us kinda did!

Well this will be a Valentine's Day I will never forget! Friday night we had a great dinner at Mojo- we got the sushi special and brought 2 bottles of wine and had a great time- talking adult talk and catching up with each other! We got to bed relatively early, although our house was creepishly quiet without Koa and Bode so we were kinda sad!

Saturday morning we got up and packed the car and were on our way
I'm so cheesy taking pictures
Here I am at the bottom of the mountain- ready for the day~
beautiful view from the top of one of the liftsOkay- so let me start off by saying OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap snowboarding hurts so bad!!! We took an hour lesson when we first got there- I did the lesson 'normal foot' which is left foot facing down the mountain (even though when i surfed i was goofy foot). The lesson went okay and we managed to not fall a whole lot at all- great right?!! Not exactly!

Our first time up the chair lift I realized I wasn't prepared to get off the lift- i have been skiing for years and still have issues on skiis...... the whole mountain was pretty much a sheet of ice which didn't help, but Michael went to the right and i tried to go straight off the lift.... and the board came out from under me and I slammed the back of my head on the ice- I knocked myself out for about 2 seconds before realizing the excruciating pain i was in. The tears were pouring down my face but I couldn't help it- I have never hit my head that hard EVER- i thought for sure i had left part of my skull back on the ice- even with all of the collisions in soccer- never felt pain like that in my head. It took me about 10 min. to get my sight back and get acquainted.... and then we had to go down!

I fell at least a dozen times going down the bunny slopes- one time i was going to fast and couldn't stop so i fell onto my knees (they say not to put your wrists out so you dont break them) and i landed on a patch of ice and busted my knee really bad. I was a mess already. It didn't feel right to me so I decided to go back to the rental place and have them switch my feet- when I came back and was going down 'goofy foot' I felt MUCH better.... but because of my previous injuries on the first run, the slightest fall killed me!

Here is Michael- he did SO AWESOME!!! He really loved it despite his bruises and bumps

So a few runs later I caught an edge going heel side on the mountain and fell backwards- my tailbone hurt so badly from falling earlier that i tried to contort my body on the side and once again slammed my head big time on the ice :( This time my right eye went blurry- I was freaked out!
Michael made me go see the first aid center and they pretty much dont mess around with head injuries- they told me to stop. I had to sign a waiver saying they advised me to stop, but I decided to rent a helmet and keep trucking along- I was having a great time while up on the board- just the falling was absolutely horrible!!! Most people on the slopes wore helmets and I didn't even think twice about it!!

Here is my video- I actually didn't fall and it was super fun while boarding.... Michael would go first and go down halfway or so and then turn around and wait for me. Here I am, helmet and all!!

So I am SUPER glad I got the helmet because a few runs later I smashed the back of my head AGAIN and all hell broke loose- I had a terrible headache, was nauseaus and very very dizzy/lightheaded... they were pretty sure I had a concussion but I knew where I was, etc.
After the last bad fall I told Michael I couln't do it to my body anymore- I was in so much pain, the thought of falling made me want to cry! I begged him to keep going because he was doing so well but he felt horrible leaving me on valentine's day to go do more- not the point of the day but I insisted.... I didn't want to ruin his good thing- so he did a few more runs and were were out of there around 8pm... he had had enough as well but we both had fun- I just felt all banged up!

So.... we ask you all........
Car accident?
OR
Snowboarding??

They both have striking similarities- I have whiplash, bruising everywhere and I can barely move anything!!

I don't know if you can see it, but Michael has a bruise from his elbow halfway to his wrist!!
Yes, those are our battle wounds- I obviously couldn't post the black and blue rear that we both have!!! Our poor tushies!

Michael framed me with this picture- we got back to my parents house and i had a horrible headache was icing my head and he is MAKING me put this picture up- if i dont, he will post it and blow it up bigger :( thanks my love

So in a nutshell we had fun, i got banged up, but we will never forget it!

We missed our boy terribly and he was a good boy for Tutus!
He has become quite the picky eater believe it or not- he randomly eats something and then decides a few bites into it he doesn't want it. It's frustrating but I'll choose my battles wisely

Here he is playing with the new potty we bought him. He went on the big potty a few weeks ago almost as a joke- i was getting him ready for the bath and he was standing at it so i put him on and he went! We aren't seriously enforcing potty training but I thought we would need one anyway!

So darn cute I can't stand it!

Playing with his slippers

He liked playing with Michael's goggles when we unpacked our stuff

hahahaha

We are looking forward to a low key week- Valentine's Day is over which means we are not super busy realloy- although business has picked up a lot thankfully! January was a scary month- it's always our slowest, but with the scary economy you never know when business will pick up again! Have a great President's Day!
