There isn't a whole lot going on with us this week- we are all finally sick-free for at least 4 days (knock on wood)!!! This virus is terrible and seems to spread so easily and quickly- I heard it even travels through the internet- ha gotcha!
We were expecting flurries Tuesday night into Thursday but they weren't very sure about accumulation- the storm was moving off the coast and we weren't expected to get significant amounts....
Ummm yeah this was my car Wednesday morning!
We woke up to about 8 inches of snow in Lititz! As we proceeded to watch the news, we realized that the county was sooo varied in snowfall amounts
In one school district alone there was from a dusting to a foot, just in that district- it's crazy and everyone has been talking about how weird the storm was. I drove Bode to Nanny's Wednesday morning and when I came down one hill, I saw brown grass- no more snow- they had gotten NOTHING the night before, so random!!
At least it's supposed to be in the 50's on Saturday, so maybe a lot of it will melt in time for our bar party!!!! It's this Saturday night and we are so excited to see everyone
So I have been in a funk lately- I honestly think it's the whole economy thing, I know that sounds soooo cliche but it's true- Michael and I are very fortunate to have good job security (again knock on wood) but everything happening around us is really scary. I think everyone is having a hard time with the state of the economy right now and i just think a lot about people who have no jobs and no options and it makes me so sad for those families. Who knows what the future will hold.....
I had a great idea but not sure how it would work.... so there are some SUPER rich people out there- like the Bill Gates rich. The man makes over $56 billion (BILLLLIIOOONNN)- it comes out to roughly over $1 million per hour- that makes me sick. So take a handful of these people, who typically donate a lot of money to charities, etc. throughout the year anyway. What if for one year they 'donated' (so it's still be a write off) their money to the government. I know it's not going to amount to the bail out bucks, but if you get 10 of these rich folks to donate tons of money, it can't hurt....
Of course it wouldn't hurt to pull our poor troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan too.... those countries are going to need to learn to function on their own anyway and our troops have been through enough!!! It is estimated that our country spends about $255 MILLION a WEEK on the war in Iraq alone.... that money needs to be spent creating jobs here for people to survive.
Ok that's my rant, sorry if I bored you- it just makes me sad to think about the struggling people out there that work so hard and still hit dead ends day after day!
