24-Hour Virus... YUCK!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, we finally got our internet hooked up!!

Who would have known that this hair would lead to a long night of sickness:( Friday night Nic and Lisa came over to hang out, have dinner, and relax- it was very nice! They left around 11pm and Michael and I got ready for bed.... I checked on Bode only to find that because he had been sleeping up against his bumper, he had given himself a mohawk!!! We cracked up, I took a picture, and we went to bed. He let out a cry around 11:30 but we didn't think much of it because he does that sometimes when he's dreaming or he scoots up and hits the crib bumper.... but then at 11:45 he woke up SCREAMING- I got as far as our bedroom door and could smell it- the unmistakable smell of vomit :(:(

Bode had puked all over the crib, himself, the blankets, bumper, etc. You name it, it probably had puke on it. I grabbed him and snuggled him, I didn't car about the puke- it was the first time he had puked like that, he only spit up a few times as a baby, but this was different and it felt like such a test of my Mommyhood- it was so hard to see him go through this. I put him in the bathtub while Michael put all bedding and clothes in the wash and put new stuff on the crib. After the bath, the puking continued so I decided to sleep with him and a basin on the couch. It took him awhile to settle to sleep and then he woke up a few times through the night to throw up. I was in tears, I felt so bad for him, especially when he would dry heave. Around 3:30 he stopped so I put him in his crib and slept on his floor with the basin, just in case! He woke up around 8am and no puking although the virus had moved into his intestines and about 11+ nasty diapers later, we made it through Saturday! He only peed twice which scared me because he hated the pedialyte and wouldn't drink water. I was actually at one point giving him pedialyte through a dropper.

Saturday evening we went to Nana's house for a family game night- which was sooo fun! We brought our stack cup game and played Rock Band, Apples to Apples and Imaginiff- all some of my favorite games! Great idea, we can't wait to do it again.

Here is Makayla playing with Bode

Sunday morning Bode woke up wet!!! Yeahhhhhhhh he seems to just have had a 24-hour bug, thank God!!! He ate a nice breakfast (mostly the BRAT diet) and we got ready to go to Tutu's house. My parents are watching him today and tonight while Michael and I go to Doug & Melissa's superbowl party.

When I asked Bode if he was ready to go see Tutu, he walked over to his overnight bag and tried to pick it up!!!!

These are the "Lucky" Brand jeans that my Mom got Bode for Christmas- they have skulls on the butt and are just the cutest! So sleepy on our way to Tutus house

And the infamous steps in the basment... Drumroll please...............................................................

TA-DAAAAAAAA!!!!

Don't they look amazing!!!! Michael and Scott did such a fantastic job with everything in this house and i think these steps are by far my favorite! They were able to cut out the old treads and replace them anyway in their own ingenious way- we re-did the risers and it's almost done. We still have another coat of paint, so you can still see the blue painters tape on the edges, but it's considered 'done' in our book!
Here are the old ones...... what a difference!

Here is the one section of the basement- this is a conference table that we got from a neighbor at work and it's perfect for poker, games, or serving food!!

Another angle

This is taken from the bottom of our steps, looking towards the bar

And this is the first section of the basement that you hit when you come down the stairs- everything looks so perfect in its place- luckily Michael & Scott were able to get the couch and chair down into the basement- after about an hour or so of fighting the door frame! They finally took the door off, took off the moulding all around the door and were able to shove this over-sized bad boy down the steps!!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
What a difference from what the basement used to look like when we bought it

We can't wait for everyone to see it in person!!! So I really don't care who wins the superbowl- my Broncos aren't in it so I'm just excited to see the commercials- but I think I'm going to go for the Cardinals- they are the underdog and I think it would be cool for them to win.... Plus, we live on Cardinal Road, so GO CARDS!!!

Speaking of our house.... in Lititz.... the Philadelphia Inquirer did a story on the top 12 america's dozen distinctive destinations....... this is their criteria- "destinations that combine dynamic downtowns, cultural diversity, attractive architecture, cultural landscapes, and a commitment to historic preservation and revitalization"....

6- Hot Springs, SD
